My Path to WillowLife
My name is Kay Williams and I am the keeper of WillowLife.
I love things that add to a more peaceful, joyful, and whole life on this Earth. Yoga is a practice that offers so much for body, mind, and spirit and it has been a valuable part of my life since 1998. I received my 240 hour teacher certificate from Aura Wellness Center and my restorative Relax and Renew certification from Judith Hanson Lasater. I have been teaching yoga classes since 2000, starting with one class a week and now have 5 public classes and multiple private and semi-private classes each week.
Additionally, I have been trained and am certified as a Yoga For All instructor and Strong Spirits Mindfulness and Movement Chair Yoga instructor.
I am blessed by all the students I have the honor of teaching and am continually aware that I am both teacher and student.
I am a Reiki Master Teacher and offer Reiki sessions by appointment at WillowLife Center. Chakra Therapeutics and Ho'oponopono techniques are two additional offerings for individuals or groups.
I also have a program called Zen-in-10 that I offer to businesses and private groups with the intent that getting people moving and breathing will allow them to be more present in whatever their day holds. Since 2015 this program has been offered through the University of North Dakota. Twice a week, selected departments on campus get a 10 minute visit from my loud music, wild dance (?) moves, and me. We move together and laugh together; the responses and feedback from faculty and staff who have participated have propelled this popular program from a pilot project to a rotating department program for over two years.
I do freelance work for various groups including the Girl Scouts of America, UND, the RAIN (Recruitment/Retention of American Indians into Nursing) program, and the INMED (Indians Into Medicine) Summer Institute.
I like moving and laughing, quiet and stillness. I wish to offer students and clients a variety of options that may provide increased balance in their lives.
One of my favorite sayings is, "You cannot always control what happens in your life, but you can control how you react."

WillowLife?
The name WillowLife signifies to me that deep roots are important in stability and that the ability to bend and move (with as much grace as possible) brings increased joy and peace. If you've ever had a willow tree, you might have seen how small portions of the brances fall away when the wind is strong; I liken that characteristic to life and letting go of things that no longer serve us.
